We started SDC in June 2021, after realizing that we needed something more than the typical bourbon and whiskey scene. We wanted to create a space where dads could connect, support, and have fun with each other, beyond the bottle. We wanted to celebrate the dad life, and all the joys and challenges that come with it.

EJ Escontrias, The Subourbon Dad
Meet EJ, the Subourbon Dad and the Godfather of SDC. He’s not just a whiskey lover, he’s a whiskey legend. With 25 years of experience in tasting, selecting, and teaching whiskey, he knows how to find the best bottles and share them with the world. He’s also the host of our podcast, Dad’s Whiskey Rebellion, where he talks about the dad life, the whiskey world, and everything in between. He’s the Boomer of the crew, but he’s also the coolest. Broc Mullins
Say hello to Broc, a founding father and the nicest guy in SDC. He’s not just a whiskey lover, he’s a whiskey wizard. As our resident barrel master, he has the skill and the taste to select the most amazing and unique barrels from the best distilleries. He’s the heart and soul of our group, and we wouldn’t be here without him.
Alex Bannister
Meet Bannister, a founding father and the Social Director of SDC. He’s not just a whiskey lover, he’s a whiskey connector. He’s the one who makes SDC more than just a Facebook group. He’s the one who organizes awesome events and activities for our members, such as golf tournaments, fishing tournaments, date night dinners, and more. Rodney Browning
Meet Hot Rod, a founding father and the finest brand ambassador of SDC. He’s not just a whiskey lover, he’s a whiskey partner. Rodney builds meaningful and lasting relationships within the community and is a friend to all! He’s the one who makes our own beer releases possible, featuring our exclusive single barrels and blends in delicious and creative beers. He’s the bridge between our group and our allies. Alex Reinkemeyer
Meet Alex, the Facebook group guardian and welcome wagon of SDC. He’s not just a whiskey lover, he’s a whiskey leader. He’s the one who keeps the team in check and drives us forward. He’s also the one who manages our Facebook page and welcomes new members with warmth and enthusiasm. He’s young, innovative, and creative, always bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to our group. Hunter Zeppa
Meet Hunter, a founding father and the calming, steady force of SDC. He’s not just a whiskey lover, he’s a whiskey connoisseur. He has a complex palate and a keen nose that can detect the subtlest nuances and differences in whiskey. He’s also a regular cohost on our podcast, Dad’s Whiskey Rebellion, where he shares his insights and opinions on the world of whiskey and fatherhood. Carl John
Meet Carl, an SDC admin and the pretty boy of SDC. He’s not just a whiskey lover, he’s a whiskey star. He’s the one who makes our hype videos, special announcements, and the well-regarded “tasting time with Carl”, where he showcases his knowledge and charisma on the world of whiskey. Ian Little
Meet Ian, an SDC admin and the social media expert of SDC. He’s not just a whiskey lover, he’s a whiskey influencer. He has a fantastic palate and a knack for creating engaging and entertaining content on various platforms. He is the host of our Whiskey Wednesday virtual happy hour where he invites our members and guests to join him for a fun and interactive whiskey tasting online. J Eric Newton
Meet Newton, The Facebook Bouncer and the career law-enforcement officer of SDC. He’s not just a whiskey lover, he’s a whiskey hero. He has dedicated his life to serving and protecting the community, as well as enjoying a good game of golf. he is passionate about giving back to the Community, law-enforcement and children’s charities that he supports. He’s our charity manager, who organizes and oversees our fundraising events and donations. He’s the courage and the generosity of our group, always making a difference and inspiring others. Jim Plank
Meet Jim, one of the admins of SDC. He’s a bourbon enthusiast who has a stellar palate and a keen sense of taste. He’s always eager to learn and explore new flavors and expressions of whiskey. He’s also a valuable member of our team, who helps with various group projects and moderates our Facebook group. He was instrumental in our 2022 Christmas Food Drive for the North Texas Food Bank, where we raised over $10,000 and donated over 500 pounds of food. He’s a kind and generous person, who cares about the community and the whiskey family. Join him and the rest of the SDC admins as they drink against the grain.
Braden Johnson
Braden is not only a founding father of SDC, but also a master of graphic design and marketing. He has a keen eye for aesthetics and knows how to create captivating visuals and campaigns. He is also an avid softball player who enjoys hitting home runs and catching fly balls. But perhaps his most impressive skill is his talent for selecting whiskey and bourbon. He has a refined palate and a vast knowledge of different brands and varieties. He can always find the perfect bottle for any occasion. Braden is a valuable member of the SUBOURBON Dads Club and a great friend to all.

Their award-winning beers include the Sasquatch Imperial Chocolate Milk Stout which took home the silver in the 2015 Great American Beer Festival aged beer category. Their Scotch Ale, Kilt Switch, took home a bronze in 2018.
